How it works
Five checks before and after you pay
Your university's instructions control the payment. This sequence helps you avoid an incorrect recipient, a missed deadline or an unallocated transfer.
Read the current invoice
Confirm the institution, course or teaching period, amount due in AUD, due date and the exact student or application reference. An offer deposit and a later tuition instalment may have different references.
Verify the destination
Open the university portal or official website yourself and compare the beneficiary details there. Do not rely on a changed bank account sent only by email.
Check the payer and method
Confirm the university accepts the method you plan to use. If another person pays, check its payer-name and relationship-document requirements before sending.
Compare delivered AUD and timing
Ask what will reach the student account after conversion, processing fees and any intermediary deductions. Work backwards from the university deadline, allowing time for settlement and reconciliation.
Save proof and confirm credit
Keep the payment reference and formal confirmation. Later, compare the university statement or receipt with the invoice; follow up on any missing or short credit.
Paying an offer deposit?
The deposit, Confirmation of Enrolment and later tuition charges follow different points in the enrolment journey. Use the deadline and amount in your own offer.

A parent's or sponsor's transfer needs a clear paper trail. Record the payer's identity and relationship, then keep that evidence with the payment confirmation.
